Pre-Product Certificate

Pre-Product Certificate

Definition:

A Pre-product certificate is a document that confirms which products were previously transported in a transport container — e.g. tank truck, tank container or silo train.
It serves as proof to assess product compatibility, hygiene standards and potential contamination risks before a new load.

The certificate is used in particular in chemical, food, feed and pharmaceutical logistics to ensure that no unwanted residues or dangerous reactions occur between the primary product and the new load.

Typical content:

  • Information about the previously transported product/group of substances
  • Hazard or food classification
  • Loading date & mode of transport
  • Cleaning status information/ reference to cleaning certificate
  • Supplier & confirmation by the transport company

Reference to regulatory significance & standards
In certain supply chains (e.g. food, pharmaceuticals, kosher/halal, GMP transport), the presentation of a pre-product certificate is mandatory in order to obtain approvals.

Connection to tank cleaning & eECD
The pre-product certificate is often combined with a tank cleaning certificate/eECD tested to ensure product quality and safety.

Challenges when using pre-product certificates:

Missing or unclear information
Incomplete information on intermediate products leads to uncertainties, delays, additional cleaning or rejection of the load — particularly in the case of sensitive products.

Manual review & document formats vary
Certificates are often only available as PDF or paper. Different formats and a lack of digitization make rapid testing and process execution difficult.

Loady's solution:

Standardised, clear product and pre-use information
Loady makes requirements for permitted or excluded precursors visible and ensures that the driver and dispatcher know which subpoena is acceptable.

Digital delivery and combinable document requirements
Even before the start of transport, Loady shows whether a pre-product certificate and/or an eECD is required and provides the requirements in a structured, multilingual form.
Drivers can retrieve them using a QR code — errors, queries and waiting times are avoided.
