Kosher Certificate
Definition:
A kosher certificate confirms that a product, a production process or a production facility meets Jewish dietary laws (Kashrut/Kosher rules).
This certification ensures that all ingredients, production steps, cleaning processes and equipment used meet religious requirements.
Kosher certifications are particularly relevant in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical industries when products or raw materials must be manufactured, stored or transported in a religiously compliant manner.
Types & Scope
There are different kosher certifications depending on the product group (foods, additives, production aids, packaging) and segments such as “Pareve” (neutral), “Dairy” (dairy products) or “Meat” (meat products).
A rabbinate or an accredited certification body carries out audits, reviews raw materials, supply chains and cleaning processes, and ensures ongoing compliance.
Industry and logistics relevance
Kosher certificates are also required in the chemical industry (e.g. for enzymes, dietary supplements, pharmaceutical adjuvants, emulsifiers or additives). Transport containers, pipes and tanks must be cleaned and tested to prevent cross-contamination.

Kosher certification challenges:
Cross-contamination risk & strict cleaning requirements
If transport systems, tanks or production plants have previously carried non-kosher substances, specific cleaning and approval processes are required. Lack of transparency or incorrect handling can result in loss of certification.

Complex supply chains & documentation requirements
All raw materials, additives and auxiliary materials must be traceable. Missing certificates or incomplete documentation lead to delays or blockages of goods.

Loady's solution:
Clear guidelines for certification and cleaning requirements
Loady makes it possible to store specific certificate requirements, such as kosher verification, for each product and location.
Freight forwarders and logistics partners can see whether Kosher-compatible tanks, cleaning certificates or special processes are required even before they arrive.
Transparent information for drivers & transport service providers
Drivers receive clear instructions on cleaning standards, document requirements and approval processes — particularly for CIP/SIP systems and tank logistics.
This ensures compliance with religious production standards and reduces local inquiries or rejections.
