Help & tips for
Using Loady

Frequently asked questions

What is a “product” in Loady?
  • A product is an object in Loady that can be used depending on a company's logistical use cases
  • A product can be an article, an internal intermediate, a material, or a generic product
  • If a company uses generic product groups, no product-specific requirements can be managed in Loady
  • Whatever logic a company uses for its “products” in Loady, it should be able to be connected to its logistics logic, especially when a link to ERP data is required, e.g. searching for a specific ERP number would not be possible with a generic group
  • A generic product group cannot relate to a product-specific lane, i.e. no requirement profiles at product level with customers. Everything would be generic at group level, such as “packaged goods, dangerous goods.”
How does the driver get access to Loady's information?

For drivers, we have developed a special driver view for mobile devices called Loady2Go. You can send a link to a specific “transport relationship” from Loady via email, SMS or another messenger and the driver can open the link on their mobile device to check the information about their specific trip. Loady2Go is available in the same languages as the Loady application. When you integrate Loady into your ERP transportation planning process, you can automatically send such a link or QR code to your carrier with the shipping order.

Features and functions

Are my “business partners” public?

No, the data of the “business partners” is private and is fully owned by your company.

Can I enter free text information in Loady?

Loady's idea is to provide a structured, standardized data model for managing loading and unloading requirements in industry. That's why we've reduced the ability to enter free text information to a minimum and instead offer structured fields with drop-down lists where you can select predefined values, such as pump type, document type, personal protective equipment. However, in exceptional cases, we offer the option of entering additional information as text in the available languages, wherever this is necessary and makes sense from the point of view of the data model.

What if a location is located in an industrial park or chemical park? Who will enter location-relevant information into Loady?

In Loady, we will offer an opportunity to create a site as a chemical park and assign settlers to such a location. The settlers can then synchronize your location data with the chemical park and receive updates every time the chemical park changes information, such as the opening times of the location.

Can my customer enter their unloading requests directly into Loady so that I don't have to do this myself?

Yes, if your customer is also on Loady. The customer can create their own account with Loady, enter their data and share it with you. If the customer is not yet on Loady, enter their details as a “business partner” under your company and ask them to review and confirm the Loady workflow.

Can I get a notification if my customer changes something to their data?

Yes, there will be the option to enable notifications for specific data changes in a push and pull mode. This means that you can, for example, notify your assigned carriers of a change via push notification, or that you can subscribe to a notification of data changes from your customers or suppliers (in the case of shipments from the factory).

Is there a way to highlight exceptions in Loady?

Since you will be working with structured data in Loady, the basis for implementing exception tracking is already in place. However, the definition of the exception is a very individual topic for every company, so that a possible tracking can only be implemented on the basis of your specific needs as a Loady customer.

Can I upload master data to Loady that I already have in my ERP system?

Yes, for some data, it makes sense to upload it from the ERP to avoid duplication of effort when maintaining customer or product master data, for example. Basic master data in Loady can be uploaded via API or by providing it as a CSV file.

Can I export data from Loady?

As a manufacturing company, you can export your own data at any time, i.e. everything to the locations, (unloading) points and products you have entered. If you want to export data from your business partners' locations and products, you can only see the requirements of the products and charging points for which you are approved or responsible. The pure online views that Loady provides for truckers and truck drivers do not allow data export or download.

Loady API makes it possible to integrate request data directly with systems and applications and vice versa. Loady API requires an Enterprise subscription.

What languages is Loady available in?

You can currently use the Loady application and Loady2Go in German, English, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Romanian and French. Dutch, Russian, Czech and Hungarian will follow in Q2 2025 — further languages are planned.

Can two companies that use Loady share data within Loady?

Yes, you can. There are various ways you can exchange data within Loady. You can exchange data with your carriers by assigning them to the transport relationships created by your Loady — the prerequisite is that they have a company account on Loady. If your supplier is on Loady, you, as the goods recipient, can share your unloading requirements with them. As a supplier, you can even share data with your customers who aren't on Loady yet and ask them to review their unloading requirements via the Loady workflow.

How are Loady service packages billed?

Business and Enterprise Services are billed 12 months in advance on an annual basis.

  • annual fee
  • For manufacturing companies: Service packages according to the number of charging points and products in Loady
  • For logistics service providers: Service packages according to the number of active assignments for transporting goods

An active assignment is not required for every single delivery of goods that a freight forwarder carries out. Active assignments are about the number of data records (product A from charging point B to unloading point C) that a freight forwarder has access to per month.

What is an active assignment?

Assignment to a Product Transport Lane gives carriers temporary access to requirements for loading a product at one location and unloading at another location.

Active assignments are carried out by the freight client — usually the shipper.

What services does Loady offer?

There are three services each for manufacturing companies and logistics service providers: Free Starter, Business and Enterprise.

Free Starter is free. This service is primarily intended for goods recipients who can enter their unloading points and manage them in Loady. However, it also enables shippers to test Loady with initial goods transports. Above all, it includes the free online view for truckers and truck drivers.

In the case of manufacturing companies, the service model and costs depend on the number of charging points and products and the desired level of integration. In the case of carriers from the product transport lanes for which they are entitled, i.e. the active assignments. Using Loady API always requires enterprise-level services.

data management

Will it be possible to add additional data to the Loady data model if something is missing?

Loady was developed based on the requirements and validation of BASF, Evonik and three pilot carriers. We therefore assume that the data model is already comprehensive and at least covers the needs of the chemical industry and its customers. However, we are ready and open to further develop it and add new modules and fields to meet the needs of more industries. So let us know if you're missing anything.

Were CEFIC's SULID documents taken into account when designing Loady?

Yes, we used the Site Unloading Information Document (SULID) documents produced by CEFIC and ECTA as one of Loady's design sources. Some of the experts from our pilot carriers, who were previously involved in creating SULID, have attended our design workshops to ensure that Loady covers all important aspects mentioned in SULID.

Is it possible to use Loady data to prepare logistics tenders?

Yes, logistical tendering is one of Loady's most important use cases. After the loading and unloading requirements have been maintained in Loady, the data can be used to prepare the tender documents for logistics purchasing. In Loady, you can create the transport relations that are included in your tender scope and share them within Loady with the carriers who are invited to the tender. Freight forwarders can thus check the freight price-relevant data and prepare their offer on this basis. As a logistics purchase, you can also simply extract the data on the transport relations and use it for further processing outside of Loady, or you can integrate Loady directly with your tendering tool via an API.

Can I attach a safety data sheet or other documents to the product in Loady?

Yes, you can enter a link to safety data sheets or other documents that are stored elsewhere, or add them as an attachment if you want to use Loady as a database for these documents.

What if I don't want to share my data with other companies in Loady?

Your data belongs to you — you decide what you want to share and with whom. The only exception is currently the so-called “public” data, which is visible to all Loady users: location address, truck access restrictions, location opening times.

As a shipper, what can you do if your customer and their locations are not yet on Loady?

That is no problem at all. Just let us know so that Loady will add the customer and their location. As long as your customer doesn't register on Loady himself, we'll take care of the general company data.

Any specific instructions regarding receiving and unloading your product at your customer's location can then be added by you. In these cases, Loady provides that you can ask your customers to at least verify their data in Loady.

As soon as your customer assumes responsibility for their own data, this workaround will of course lapse!
